Dennis Prager sees a very dark world, and sees rising problems in lands foreign and domestic. But he never once mentions global environmental problems, the specter of global warming and rising sea levels and melted glaciers and summer droughts and the like.

He sees everything in old religious terms.

Recently, as the Iraq war worsened, I began to be a bit more optimistic. Islam is truly a dangerous and vile religion, but it has a built in governor, so to speak: the Sunni/Shia antagonism. This helps take the brunt off the west. The Bush administration rationale for conquering Iraq was, arguably, fight them over there rather than over here.

My rationale for strategic disengagement is: let them fight themselves over there rather than fight us over here.

Amusingly, Prager sees the Islamic East as fundamentally dishonest. But he doesn't see the dishonesties at the heart of the vile Bush administration, with its editing of scientific documents for ideological reasons, with its false testimony before the war, with its strategies for electoral policy in the age of vote suppression.

Conservatives have a lot to answer for, for sticking up for crony capitalism and tough-guy oligarchy, even when it became obvious that this government was based on lies, lies, lies.

The fact that people like Prager still do not see the lies, shows that they are blinded to the truth.

What fools these conservatives be.
